“Paper Things” is the story of Ari and her older brother, Gage. Last week, however, I had one of those experiences where I didn’t want to put a book down, and I read all 384 pages of Jennifer Richard Jacobson’s “Paper Things” in less than a day. Now 15 months old, my daughter loves books - including whatever I’m reading - which means strategically keeping them out of reach whenever she’s around. Then I had a baby, and that made finding time to read a little more complicated.

In the past, it wasn’t unusual for me to read entire books in one day. Jennifer lives in Maine and when not writing, works as a writing coach.“PAPER THINGS,” by Jennifer Richard Jacobson, Candlewick Press, Feb. Her newest title is a middle grade romance: CRASHING IN LOVE. Jennifer Richard Jacobson, a graduate of Harvard Graduate School of Education, is the award-winning author of over two dozen children’s books including THIS IS MY ROOM (NO TIGERS ALLOWED (Simon and Schuster), SMALL AS AN ELEPHANT, PAPER THINGS, and THE DOLLAR KIDS (Candlewick), and the TWIG and TURTLE series (Pixel and Ink). With a focus on perseverance, community, self-discovery, and a little environmental stewardship, this charming story accompanied by warm and inviting black-and-white illustrations throughout, is perfect for developing young readers. Soon, Twig and her whole family have turned hunting for nos into a fun game. You go out and look for ways to be turned down. When Dad realizes Twig is feeling low, he tells her a way to take the sting out of rejection. And then she isn’t picked for a special dinner with her favorite pop star.

Her best friend is too busy to hang out with her. Twig learns that failing doesn't make you a failure-it just opens up possibilities in the sixth book in the beloved Twig and Turtle chapter book series, perfect for fans of Ivy and Bean and Judy Moody. All copies will be signed by the author and can be personalized-make sure to include your request in the checkout section!
